About Reishi

Also known as Lingzhi (mushroom of immortality) and the Queen of mushrooms, Reishi is one of today's most popular herbal supplements. With thousands of years of traditional use and scientific studies to back it, Reishi has earned its spot as one of the most beneficial mushrooms, and herbs are known to man.

Once only reserved for use by royalty, Reishi was so highly prized that it could be painted on imperial artworks and embroidered onto imperial clothing from ancient China. Thankfully, it is easily accessible today and can be cultivated with relative ease in controlled environments that help boost the production of beneficial compounds such as ganoderic acid, beta(1-3)glucans, immunomodulatory protein LZ8 and triterpenoids, while combating issues related to overharvest and exploitation of biodiversity from potential over-harvest for commercial markets and financial gain, as seen with Ophiordyceps Sinensis.

Our products are made of Reishi antlers. This means that the Reishi used is grown in a high CO2 environment, increasing the production of certain beneficial compounds mentioned above. We also keep the spores on the mushrooms since they have been shown to contain numerous health benefits.

Reishi is known for its ability to help combat stress, promote calmness, improve sleep, improve recovery from exercise and a busy work schedule while improving mental clarity, liver function and overall vitality.

Reishi may also help with mild allergies and act as an antihistamine while keeping our body's defences sharp without overstimulating the immune system.

We use Reishi to promote a calm but focused mind, stress management, relaxation, inflammation and improved sleep and recovery. Reishi is revered as the number one tonic herb in TCM and has been used for millennia to promote mental, spiritual and physical well-being and induce meditative states. This mushroom has also been used to balance hormones, improve adaptability, reduce inflammation and oxidative stress and build a robust immune system.

Other benefits of Reishi includes powerful anti-inflammatory properties, improved circulation, cardiovascular health and endocrine support.

When to take Reishi?
We prefer to take Reishi in the late afternoon and evenings to help with recovering after a long day at work and after strenuous exercise so we can wake up feeling well-rested and ready for action. Some people report energising effects from Reishi. This speaks to Reishi's adaptogenic abilities and how this mushroom tailors its impact to the individual's needs. If you are new to Reishi, try it in the morning, afternoon and evening to see what it does for you.
